About Us

A partnership of Northern & Southern New England Presbyteries

The Network officially formed in 2019 to bring life to a longstanding vision to establish PCA churches in the New England states, churches that reflect deep theological and cultural engagement with our particular PLACE, by serving and knowing its PEOPLE, and bringing the transforming POWER of the historic Christian faith. This ministry of word and work will bear fruit for the glory of God through a labor of love and PATIENCE.

We are currently seeking God’s guidance as we pray for New England and evaluate opportunities and serve as stewards in His kingdom.

NECPN Steering Committee

Rick Hollen, Ministry Director

Rick and his wife, Kendra, moved to New England at the tail end of a 23-year military career and have stayed in Maine ever since. Rick is a ruling elder at Christ the Redeemer PCA in Portland, Maine and has been involved in various ministries there over the past fourteen years. He holds an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, has been involved in all aspects of several entrepreneurial ventures, and brings a unique blend of experience and business acumen.

Rick was selected as the director to organize the Network, get it off the ground, and help get the message out to potential church planters, pastoral candidates, and New Englanders looking to start gospel-centered, reformed churches in their areas.

Rick and Kendra reside in Freeport, Maine. Only one of their five children remain at home with them. They enjoy traveling, biking, kayaking, sailing, skiing, music, and a broad range of activities no matter the season.

Ian Hard, Chairman

Ian was installed as Pastor of Christ Church PCA in October 2016. Before coming to New Hampshire he helped plant a church in Iowa City, IA. He is originally from Maryland, but has fallen in love with New England.

Ian completed a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2022.

Ian and his wife Rebecca have three children: Ashley, Gideon, and John.

Sean Roberts, Vice Chairman

Sean has been the pastor of Christ the Redeemer Presbyterian Church since June 2014.  A native of South Texas, he moved to Philadelphia to attend Westminster Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in May 2009.  Prior to coming to CTR, Sean served as an Associate Pastor at New Life Presbyterian Church, where, in addition to preaching and pastoral ministry, he worked directly in mercy ministry, local community service involvement, and with Sr. High Students.

Sean’s wife, Claire, is a native of Portrush, N. Ireland. They have three children: Lily, Isla, and Henry.  Their favorite thing to do is eat with friends, old and new, and they love discovering new places in Greater Portland’s amazing restaurant scene.
